Trying to find my great great grandfather, James Wilson he was a hawker. His son William Wilson married Brittannia 'annie' Boss in 1848 in Hull, Yorkshire. My great grandfather was George Wilson who married Deliah Wilhemina Boss and lived in Hull until they both died. I believe George and William were brothers and Deliah and Brittannia were definitely sisters, their father being Riley Boss. Whilst i have lots of information about the Boss family I have none on the Wilsons. I would appreciate any advice on finding them or any information.

Hi, can anyone help me find ancestors back to 1901 as I have little information.

My Grandma was Martha Ellen Taylor born 1918 Ruthin, Wales. Her mothers maiden name was Pries or Price.

Martha Ellen married Joseph Rogerson in Calder West Riding in 1939. Josephs mothers maiden name was smith.

I have a marriage for Fuchsia smith to Joseph Rogerson whom I believe is Joseph Rogerson Senior. 1913 Warrington.

However, cannot find any birth, death or census data for Fuchsia. She would have been born in the late 1880's or 1890's I guess.

If anyone knows this family or can confirm or dismiss any of these facts I would be grateful.

My mother by the way was born in a Caravan the last generation in the family. I am so interested to find more, especially concerning the Smith or Pries/Price.

Finally, my mother, one sibling, Martha Ellen and Joseph are buried in Nantwich, with sub district Congleton.

Joseph and Martha had lots of kids that seemed to be born between Nantwich and Chester/ Tarvin. However, I have no evidence that all if any of this is fact. Many people have suggested bmd searches which I do regularly. I get information but unless somebody confirms this I have no concrete evidence. Any info will be helpful.

I have been able to do nothing on my Great grandfathers side. His name was John Watts born April 1825. He married Elizabeth vernon in 1859. My mother told me his mum was a gypsy and spoke the Romani language mainly and English very little. She went be the name of Old Ag.

I can find no record of her.

Hello,

Couldn't find your email, but wanted to let you know about a person in one of your photos. There is a family group in front of two wagons. It is marked on the site as being from Ken of Ken's Trailers. The lady on the right of the pic stirring a pot is Elvira Gray. She was half sister to Clifford 'Bingo' Smith of Waltham Cross. Bingo was Sally Heast's father, SallyAnne Smith's grandfather, and Minnie Hanley's great grandfather. Minnie Hanley is my sister's step-daughter. My sis is married to Ian Hanley. Bingo and Elvira are also related to Rose Hanley, Ian Hanley's mother. They are 3rd cousins.

I have recently discovered my Dad's side of the family are Romany.

Unfortunately, he is the only living descendant, and he doesn't know an awful lot about the family.

He told me my Grandma was Phyliss Nesling-Read and her brother was well known violinist Harcourt "Harkie" Nesling. My Grandma was married to Henry "Harry" Baldock. My Grandma's Mother was Gertrude Nesling-Read and her husband was Will Read.

Somewhere along the line there was a Mary Read, who took on the name through marriage.

If you know anything about this family please email me.

Thanks

Tash

Dear Morgan

To proceed further you really need her maiden name.

I think you are going to have to order certificates or wait until more years are entered for Marriages.

I looked up you Nan's death certificate registration and these are the details

Name:	Rosina Lilian Parker

Birth Date:	23 Apr 1913

Death Registration Month/Year:	Jun 1988

Age at death (estimated):	75

Registration district:	Torbay

Inferred County:	Devon

Volume:	21

Page:	2277

So it is possible that her first names were the other way around but she preferred to use Lillian?

If you order the actual death certificate it might (and it is a long shot) have her maiden name,

You say she died in Devon, do you know if she was born there too or could she have travelled there?

I have searched for any Rosina L's born in 1913 and here are the lists (from Freebmd.com but it is not complete and I have only added the counties near to Devon for Lilian as there were too many to add here)

If any of the surnames are familiar then there is a possibility that it is her. Once you can order her birth certificate it will give you her full name and her fathers name and importantly her mother full name with her maiden name. From that you will be able to get her parents marriage details witch will give their fathers names and occupations and from that you should be able to find census records.

So you see it all comes down to being able to get your nan's Maiden name.

Good luck.

PS (hope this info helps, but just realised that if you don't know your nan's maiden name you can also order your parents -mother or father- birth certificate and it will give your nan's maiden name on that)

Rosina L Allen	1913	Apr-May-Jun	Greenwich	Greater London, Kent, London

Rosina L Burr 1913	Apr-May-Jun	Islington	Greater London, London, Middlesex

Rosina L J Byng	1913	Apr-May-Jun	Portsmouth Hampshire

Rosina L Covington	1913	Apr-May-Jun	Holborn	London, Middlesex

Rosina L Fidgett	1913	Apr-May-Jun	Poplar Greater London, London, Middlesex

Rosina L Harvey	1913	Apr-May-Jun	Poplar Greater London, London, Middlesex

Rosina L Humphrey	1913	Apr-May-Jun	Fulham	Greater London, London, Middlesex

Rosina M L Patrick	1913	Apr-May-Jun	Lewisham	Greater London, Kent, London

Rosina L Ambler	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	West Ham	Essex, Greater London

Rosina L Batt 1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	Bristol	Avon, Gloucestershire

Rosina L Burt 1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	Wandsworth	Greater London, London, Surrey

Rosina L Dawson	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	Greenwich	Greater London, Kent, London

Rosina L Jackson	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	Hackney	Greater London, London, Middlesex

Rosina L Leaver	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	West Ham	Essex, Greater London

Rosina L MacCullum	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	Medway Kent

Rosina L Morgan	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	Newport M	Glamorgan, Gwent, Monmouthshire

Rosina L Pepper	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	Fulham	Greater London, London, Middlesex

Lilian R Powell	1913	Apr-May-Jun	Plymouth	Devon

Lilian R K Weeks	1913	Apr-May-Jun	Plymouth	Devon

Lilian R Williams	1913	Apr-May-Jun	St Germans	Cornwall

Lilian R Crow 1913	Apr-May-Jun	Farnham	Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex

Lilian R Lever 1913	Apr-May-Jun	Southampton	Hampshire

Lilian R M Smith	1913	Apr-May-Jun	Portsmouth Hampshire

Lilian R Blake 1913	Apr-May-Jun	Salisbury Wiltshire

Lilian R Woodridge	1913	Apr-May-Jun	Wells Somerset

Lilian R Smith	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	Weymouth (To 1958)	Dorset

Lilian N R Gamblen	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	Droxford	Hampshire

Lilian R Taylor	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	New Forest	Hampshire, Wiltshire

Lilian R Tofield	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	South Stoneham	Hampshire

Lilian R Pretty	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	Devizes	Wiltshire

Lilian R Taylor	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	New Forest	Hampshire, Wiltshire

Lilian R E Bennett	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	St Columb	Cornwall

Lilian R Manning	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	Plympton St Mary	Cornwall, Devon

Lilian R Gardiner	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	Plymouth	Devon

Lilian R Hunt 1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	St Thomas	Devon

Lilian R Manning	1913	Jul-Aug-Sep	Plympton St Mary	Cornwall, Devon
